Our next Meetup will cover posing with focus on the "C" and "S" curves of the body, how to create the most flattering look, recommended positions for the hands and feet.

The second half of our meeting will be devoted to using what we learn as we have the models photographed.

We will have our Makeup Artist, Saki, with us to do makeup.

Please be on time. Models, bring acessories, scarves, hats, hand bags, etc. for. There will be a pool so we could do some pants rolled up, shorts, etc. I'll shy away from bathing suits so as not to alter the public perception of our environment for all ages. ( I have nothing against sexy bathing suits, by the way, and love 'bare skin' as much as the next person.)

How to prepare for the session: Look at magazines and print ads to see how the models hold their head, the placement of hands, feet, angle of body, how the head is tilted or turned, shoulders, etc. Bring some of the photos from the magazine and lets see if we can help you duplicate the pose and look. These will be simple shots to learn from.

If you are a more experienced model, then we would welcome your coaching of the less experienced and you will have made someone else's day.

    •  I am an aspiring model trying to learn the tricks of the trade, and gain more experience working with different personnel within the industry. I learned alot about my body language preceived by others. I learned ways that I could assist the photographer as far as the lighting in the picture. It inspired me to attend more group meetings.
    •  The May 24th Meetup was a lot of fun. As the photographer, I had such CONTRASTS to work with. On one hand, Tawanda, who is an African American body builder, with a lovely dark skin and an outgoing personality. We worked on ideas to present her body style in the most pleasing manner and how to turn what she considered 'liabilities' into assets. Junko, a guest of Saki's, is from a more reserved Japanese culture and has a smaller bone structure and very light skin.
